Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is NextGame?

NextGame is a location-based social application that connects individuals and groups in order to find and organize pickup sports and other recreational activities. NextGame brings people, locations, retailers, and event organizers together in a way that makes it the premier pickup sports app. NextGame is more than a product or service, NextGame is a movement.
  • Where are all the games?

Where ever you want them. NextGame is about creating a community of active users who want an easier method of connecting with other individuals who are also passionate about participating in your favorite sports and activities. So go out there, post a game, your next workout, or dog walk and invite your friends. Then post it on Facebook and Twitter directly from the app. The more people you get on board the more games you will find.
  • How do I add a location?

App: From the Home Screen, click on Locations, then 'Add a Location'. Don't know the address? Don't worry. With the Location Selector, you can drag and drop a pin on that basketball court down the street and it will populate the address or will use the geo-coordinates. Just give it a name and type of location and you're good to go! Now when you go back to Locations you'll see it in your 'Nearby' list. If you play there a lot, add it as a Favorite so you can always find it quickly.
Site: Go to Add a Location and fill out the information and save it! Very simple.
  • How do I invite people to games and activites?

As you start to fill out your game details, you'll see the Invites section. Click on it and you'll see a list of your friends and groups. Go ahead and select who you want to come and go back to the Post A Game screen. When you click 'Post Game', your invitees will be alerted about the game in the 'Invitations' section of 'My Games'.
  • What are Public/Private/Invite-Only games?

'Public' games are open for all members of the NextGame Nation to see. 'Private' is only visible by you and your friends. 'Invite-only' is for you and your invitees eyes only. Poker nights at your house and soccer practice for your team are prime examples.
  • What are check-ins all about?

Check-ins serve two purposes: to show others that you are at a game and to earn trophies and deals. Check-in at locations and events to let your friends know what you're up to. For example, are you at the Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon? Spread the word. You never know, it may earn you a deal at a NextGame partner retailer.
  • What is the purpose of following a game?

Not sure what your schedule is like next week but want to keep an eye on that badminton game? Click 'Follow' in the 'Game Details' screen for that game and you'll be able to keep track of it in 'My Games'. If it looks like you'll be able to make it, be sure to 'Join' the game and let the other participants know to bring their 'A' game.
  • What if I can't find my favorite sport or activity?

We are always looking to add new sports and activities that our users participate in. Send us an email to info@nextgamenation.com and let us know what the activity is and why we should add it!
